PROCLAMATION FROM THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR OREGON DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION WEEK SEPTEMEBER 13-19, 2020 We are proud to announce that Governor Brown has issued an official proclamation which declares September 13-19, 2020, to be Direct Support Professional (DSP) Recognition Week in Oregon! We are so excited to celebrate these incredible employees who are dedicated to ensuring that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are supported in their homes, jobs, and communities. The pandemic has caused us to shift the way we offer supports, and our DSPs have consistently shown up and shifted with us during constant change. We are so grateful for their amazing work and passion for their jobs, and cannot wait to celebrate our DSPs, starting with our modified drive-through staff picnic in Northern Oregon on September 12th (August 22nd for Southern Oregon) and continuing through the week! Pictured below are some of our amazing DSPs and some of our Southern Oregon drive-through staff picnic. |

 | FREE COPIES OF THE OREGON EASY VOTING GUIDE AVAILABLE!! People with disabilities have the same right to cast a private and independent ballot as others. The non-partisan Oregon Easy Voting Guide helps lift barriers to voting by providing an accessible non-partisan voting guide for free. The Easy Voting Guide assists Oregonians in learning about their right to vote, understanding what the candidates stand for, and provides information on the ballot measures. Two years ago, more than 10,000 Easy Voting Guides were distributed through 800 advocacy groups, disability service organizations, libraries, and jails across the Oregon. Due to COVID, the team at Disability Rights Oregon is doing things a little differently this year: they will be mailing the Guide directly to people who request it. You can order your free copy by clicking the button below. Deadline to order is September 21st. Find out more about your Voting Rights at Know Your Rights! |
